Adding H or X-pipe on True Duals
i am planning on adding either H or X on my TD exhaust. i want to know after adding a H or the X pipe on the TD, will it gain the stock 350z sound again? and only for sound wise is X or H a better choose. if anyone have done this please give me some info. thank you!

you'll get it back. Do X pipe..H pipe is just a cheap version of the X pipe. X pipe will give you more torque and power...both will get you the stock Z sound back. Out of curiosity, which exhaust are u modding?
ALSO, if i am planning to do H pipe, what diameter of the pipe should be weld on for interchange both pipes, i have APS 2.5" true dual. should i be a bigger pipe or same size, will it make a difference on what size the pipe that's interchanging both sides? thanks you for you help!
also, if i do H, which section should i put the H on?

The H-pipe I welded into my Injen TD straight-tip didn't really bring back the Z sound... it DID smooth the sound out a bit, and kill a LITTLE of the drone on the highway... as far as performance, I don't know, as I've never had the car on the dyno, and my butt dyno isn't that well calibrated... couldn't feel a difference.
OK - so here's how it really works for these cars.
First - For 6 bangers - the X pipe is the real answer for balancing the exhaust system and getting the best bang for your scavenging buck. H pipes are great too, but they really work best on higher performing cars, mostly V8's, and because they don't help scavenge as well on a 6's, may induce drone as well.
Second - no offense meant here to anyone, but nobody can, in their right mind, can just tell you that you'll get your stock Z note back if you add the X. Especially without ever knowing what exhaust you have to begin with, AND if you've never compared exhausts on these cars and swapped out parts and added/subtracted components for this exact purpose before, you'll have no luck either. So beware of shops telling you that as well, unless they specialize or have done extensive R&D on these cars and systems specifically.
Third - you can expect an X pipe to give you an increase in performance. Depending on the system and mods, it will vary, but a decent average on our cars for NA is anywhere from 4-10HP. It will smooth out the tone and likely move your drone RPM up a few notches, if you have any to begin with.
Fourth - if your trying to get your tone back that you lost - simple answer - and sorry to say it - but you bought the wrong exhaust for your car.
Fifth - you have to listen to other cars and ride in them before you buy so you know what your getting. The closest you will get to getting stock tone, without marketing here, is our system, and that's with great power gains as well. There are many systems out there - but it depends on what your after and ours isn't always it and that's cool..it really not the reason I'm posting, but the reason we developed the system in the first place - to give you exactly what your asking for now.
Bottom line - if you have an exhaust that does not sound right to begin with, there is little you can do without practically changing the whole thing anyways. The best suggestion is to save up and listen to more systems and make a better choice the next time.
I'm sorry if I sound kind of down - buy most people will buy 2-3 systems, or more, and just settle with the last one or go back to stock and waste thousands of dollars.
I'm just trying to save you money...trust me...go listen to more cars.

It's a shame to hack up a APS 2.5 exhaust. It is one of the best flowing exhausts out, but it was really designed for FI. To me the sound is similar to stock but much deeper. What don't you like about it? I thought you were looking for a stillen exhaust.
