You can't see the muffler from behind. You have to be close to the ground in order to see it. I guess you could always polish it yourself if it bothered you.

For a TD exhaust that costs a little over $700, they don't need to polish ****.

Plus, it's just one more thing to keep clean and to get pissed off about when you get a "ding" in it...

Mine's on too.. woohoo! Thankfully my uncle has a lift in his garage so it was a snap. I found two good reasons for the Borla to come in so many pieces:

1) When transporting the exhaust for installation, it easily fits in the trunk.

2) More pieces = easier installation because of the smaller sections.

You guys are right about the clamps, they seem pretty solid. I think I'll forgo the welding unless I actually do have problems. Pics hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

btw, for anyone thinking about installing an exhaust, if you can, install when the car is relatively new... the rubber hangers came off and went back on pretty easily.

I just installed my Borla TD a few days ago as well. I love the deep sound, very nice. The more pieces was very convenient to me because i had the system shipped to my work. Just unpacked and fit the entire system in the back of my Z. Clamps together so well there is definitely no need for welding.
I shined up the entire thing from end to end with polish before i bolted it up, its mirror quality!
