Default Skunk 2 Intake Plenum Spacer Kit (THE VERDICT)

The verdict is rather long, please click our project page link to read the whole story. We got the car tested before and after dyno, long story short:

Stock car + Power Chamber intake = 240.9rwhp
Stock car + Power Chamber + Skunk 2 5/8" plenum spacer kit = 236rwhp

We are not too worry about the lost of power just yet since we will be installing catback, test pipe and e-manage tune this coming week, so we are very confident all the mods should work together and should put down some nice #'s.

skunk2 copied motordyne and did it very poorly

I think 5/8" is too thick. MD thickest spacer is 1/2" or 4/8" for comparison with the skunk.

You guys are forgetting, having a spacer on a REVUP plenum will have absolutely no gains. Motordyne has already tested this and has dynos to back it up.

This is why he created the MREV2, because it actually gives you gains.

The purpose of this car is a R&D project car, so we are doing the research at our expense to share more knowledge on NA power (at this point until we go turbo). More info is beneficial for the Z33 community as a whole.

We will not be removing the plenum spacer yet, got more stuff to test on this 06 (axle back, testpipe and ecu tune), and will also test the MREV2 as well.

It will be interesting from this point on.

I think the power chamber is made by top secret or top fuel 1000 something like that.

I don’t know but it is for sale here: http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.net/. So essentially this thread is an advertisement by a member who is not a sponsor.

ummm...that would be 8/16" (1/2") (which I suppose you could call it 4/8" as well...just never seen it that way...Ha! thinking outside the box...my bad) at the thickest with motordyne vs 10/16" (5/8") with the skunk2

I don't think Wayne needs any help sourcing parts.

We will be sponsoring the forum this coming week.

Power Chamber is made by Top Fuel Zero1000 in Japan, full polished aluminum intake with carbon velocity chamber in the middle. This mod made power over the spacers, but we're in the middle of installing an Greddy E-Manage at the moment to tune the car with the spacer.

In our opinion, we felt with install of plenum spacer one might need to take advantage of it by having some sort of fuel tuning as our dyno ran very rich just by install of the plenum and throws off the factory tuning.

Will update on this after we tune the car before we put on anything else (exhaust, test pipe, etc.).

Cool.

When I ask for buying advise, I like to know who is offering an unbiased opinion, and who may be profiting from their advise.
