Question Nismo SRI

Ok guys, I have searched and found very little on this topic.

First of all, I choose the Nismo intake because I do not want to void the vehicles warranty, and though a JWT pop charger shouldn’t, the reality is when they open the hood and see something non Nissan/Nismo, dealers get stupid. Luckily, dealers around my area say as long as its Nismo and installed by them, they have no problem with it.

Second, I don’t understand why people remove the Nismo intake because they are afraid of sucking up water. Can’t you convert it to a SRI and add a JWT heat shield like the pictures below? This I think for a person that wants to stick with the Nismo intake and not worry about sucking up water is the best solution. (and that bypass valve I think is stupid) What do you guys think? Would this draw power at least close to the 6hp JWT specs? Would this sound similar to the JWT intake?

Thanks a lot, unfortunately didn’t find any information on this stuff.

The way you have it setup you have a 400 dollar intake since you have a nismo and jim wolf intake into one unit. I say just buy the jim wolf kit and call it good, if you're worried about the dealer freaking out peal off the jim wolf sticker and buy a cheapo nismo sticker from ebay and throw it on in its place most probably wont know the difference, either way I dont think they will really care.

I dont think the dealer would even care if you had an injen intake on your car. ive never heard anyone have their waranty voided because of an intake.

You're worrying way too much. 6HP wont do anything.

Dealerships can lick my b***z... anyways... lets say your motor blew, they would have to prove that your aftermarket parts caused it. So if i were you... start modding away. Its your car... not the dealerships.

Um, there's no warranty on the Nismo intake either. Sounds like they're just trying to scam you into paying them to install a part that can be easily done yourself. Guaranteed IF you had a problem that was attributed to the intake (although, highly unlikey), they wouldn't care if you had Nismo, JWT, HKs, or whatever.

ok, I think you guys talked me into it. I know I'm paranoid, its just I've heard some real ****ed up stories about people getting their factory vehicle warranty voided for stupid ****. Ok, in that case I will go for the JWT intake.

Most affordable place to buy it? Is the JWT really the best intake in the market for 350Z's?
