This is probably a long-shot, but does anyone have the Fujitsubo legalis-R stainless steel exhaust with the midpipe resonator removed and a plain piece of pipe welded in its place? I am thinking of trying this but I would hate to butcher the existing pipe if it's not worthwhile. The goal is to make the car a bit louder to increase the 'fun' factor.
Also, does the resonator provide any backpressure that is essential to the exhaust flow characteristics? I am wondering if removing the resonator will detriment the power output of the engine.
High flow cats or test pipes. Probably HFC. Although it'll be cheaper for removal of resonator, might as well get some power while making it a bit louder.
Interested in hearing what it would sound like. I wonder how much it would cost to get a new 3" midpipe fabbed up at an exhaust shop in order not to cut the fuji one.
Use a 3" 2-bolt flange and bend up some tubing. Shouldn't be too expensive.
I think I may do that...my only concern is that there is a special interface between the fuji midpipe and rear muffler inlet pipe...I don't think it is just a flat flange-to-flange fit. Sucks cuz I can't remember and I'll have to climb under the car to refresh my memory.
