Its louder and I think deeper too, I don't know why. I can always hear the differences between the two.

Yep its louder than the z stock . I was next to one leaving a movie theater awhile back and we both turned our vehicles around the same time and he drowned me out.

Stock vs stock, I think the G Coupe is louder/deeper than the 350Z. I have a 350Z and my sister has a G35C, and her's was louder when I had the stock exhaust. It may have something to do with the G having a longer mid-pipe?

The G Coupe is noticeably loader and deeper.

Did Nissan do this on purpose?

Who knows, but it probably has something to do with its lenght.

I think the length would have something to do with it, but it doesnt make any sense....shouldnt a sports car be louder than a luxury coupe... especially when they are so closely related to each other (Z and G35)???

g35 is definitely louder at start up and low rpm, but it doesn't open up and growl like the Z when revving high, maybe has to do with the longer pipes like some suggest or maybe the intake system

I checked with a Bad *** meter. The 350Z reads 8. The G35 reads 6.

The G's are definitely louder and yes it is the longer pipes and might be a difference in muffler design.

I also wondered why the G's are louder than the Z's. Sort of a oxymoron if you think about it, loud luxury car.

Who you calling a moron? lol....j/k.

Thats true about Nissan designing a luxury coupe w/ a loud exhaust, but I don't think it was intentionally supposed to be louder than the Z's exhaust. It just happened to be longer, hence louder. The FX has a loud exhaust too if you notice it.
I don't think it's an indicator of speed, cause look at corvettes and porsches, their exhaust notes aren't as loud as our VQ's IMHO.

C6 vettes are loud dude. But they have the exhaust valves so after a certain rpm they open up and you hear the v8 sound.

Ok you guys are right the vette is quite loud, especially at WOT. But at low cruising speeds it seems like the stock VQ is pretty loud.
