Default Anyone replace nismo exhaust tips?

I installed my nismo exhaust today, and i love the way it sounds, but the tips bother me. I am not in love with the way they point upwards, and the fact that the are too small. I would like a bigger, rounder tip that points straight. Has anyone changed their nismo tips?? pics?

To do so would ruin the whole exhaust IMO.

Tips too small?

Stock 87mm
Stillen 97mm
Injen 100mm
Borla 105mm
Nismo 96 X 107mm

That makes the NISMO one of the larger ones.

You could always buy a different muffler and cut the tips off and get them welded on in place of the Nismo tips but as The Tech pointed out, that would ruin it.

It is different, but has really grown on me. I like the fact that there is no mistaking I have a Nismo exhaust on my car. You immediately notice the difference.

ok besides the fact that in others' opinions it looks nice, would it be physically possible to cut off the nismo tips and weld on tips to come out straight? im not sure due to the way the mid pipe connects to the muffler. if you look at the pics the mid pipe connects to the muffler and that pipe is located above where the tips exit. is that why they point up? lets just say i wanted to cut these off and have some magnaflow tips welded on straight, not angled up....could it be done?

Of course it can be done. Muffler shops do this kind of thing all the time. Basically what would need to happen is to cut below the chrome tips at a the desired angle then weld the new tips on.

I sold someone a fujitsubo exhaust because he wanted a quiet tone... but wanted the NISMO exhaust look... so we cut the NISMO tips off a NISMO Exhaust and welded them on to a Fujitsubo Legalis R... came out perfect...

No nismo is just like the OEM exhaust, but 5lbs lighter and more open (6 RWHP).

i dont know if you guys understand me properly. I want a new tip, say a magnaflow tip to come straight out of the bumper, not angled up. it looks like the mid pipe would interfere with this. The tip exit would have to be where the mid pipe connects. no?

Then you are talking about replacing the MUFFLER canister all together...

Get a Greddy SP2 that will be the easiest option for you... It just replaces the Muffler and Tips and uses the stock exhaust pipping which is different from the nismo set up...

Just have a muffler shop cut the tips with the pipes off and have them reweld the pipes with the new tips on at the angle you want. This isn't rocket science. It is blasphemy to do this to a Nismo exhaust, but to each his own.

but is there enough room on the one side to make an exhaust tip come out straight??? One would think the upper pipe on the left side of the muffler wouldnt allow a tip to come in straight.

The only real way to know is to test fit them. Good luck.
