Default Fujitsubo Legalis R with stock Y-pipe question

I just had my fujitsubo installed but only with the stock y-pipe, my JIC pipe won't be on until next monday. First of all, DAMN those tips are huge compared to the stock tips!! It's gonna take me a while to get used to them, but the sound more than makes up for it. However, it looks like my tips are sticking out an inch past the bumper, further than the stock tips did. So here is my question, is the stock y-pipe longer than a fujitsubo or JIC? I searched through a bunch of photos with the system installed, and they don't appear to be sticking out as much. My hope is that once I install the JIC y-pipe, it will draw them in a little bit.... Am I dreaming in color for this?

Will post pics tomorrow, forgot to bring my camera into work.

i am curious how your set up will turn out, i have the same exhaust- i have
popcharger, and i have motordyne iso-thermal kit-my pipes do not hang out
that far in my opinion and i have stock y-pipe right now but have been
looking at getting either jic, fuji, or aam y's haven't decided yet on which
one-i also was looking at the same hfc's you have or aam's=did you
install those items all at once or one at a time? just curious how much
louder the cats make the car

I've been doing it Johnny Cash style... one piece at a time! Next week JIC y-pipe, two or three weeks after that the high flow cats will go on. I like to do them in stages to notice the difference each part is making. I'm as just curious how much louder the HFC will make it as well. I'll let you know.

Here are the pictures comparing the same exhaust installed on another members car. It looks to me like they are sticking out a bit further. A little too "Need for Speed" looking for me, wouldn't mind it as much if they tucked in a little more. Thoughts anyone?

Hey, that black car is mine !

Just so you know, my car also has the JIC y-pipe installed, so that profile shot should be an accurate representation of fuji+jic combo. I never noticed the tips sticking out too far (never looked for it I guess), but regarding the tip diameter it definitely grows on you. Now when I see stock Z's those tips look way too small for me.

Here is another view of the back end of my car. They definitely stick out a bit farther than the stockers now that I look at it, but I personally really like it.

Nice choice of exhaust. Sounds great--I suggest you have a friend do a drive-by to let you hear what the exhaust sounds like outside the car.

As far as tip, I believe they stick out slightly more than stock...I would say that your guess about an inch is probably correct:

Stock:

Fujitsubo:

Thanks for the feedback guys. The more I look at it (which has been quite a lot!!) the more it is growing on me. I think it will a bit more proportionate once I get my 19 inch Volks on it. The sound is awesome, I can't wait to get my HFC's on there

mine look the same-hang about an inch out more than the stock pipes
did-looks good to me-i think the diameter looks a little large for
the smaller stock wheel Z's but on my grand touring it looks evil
from behind-one thing i do not like about my pipes is how they
have changed color-turning more gold everyday-tried various
cleaners/polishes and it barely helps-my wife says it does not
bother her because it matches the gold brembo calipers

I have the Fuji exhaust, JIC Y-pipe and HF cats (Crawford). You will love how the combination sounds. Mellow at low rpms, aggressive and sporty but not too loud when you get on it.

i have fuji with stock y-pipe now, and yes, the tip does stick out a bit, it's perfectly normal. I think they purposely let it stick out a bit, so when you have bodykit, it will accomodate with the line of bodykit. Big tips are cool by the way.

I am saving up for the Fuji Y-pipe.

Got my JIC y-pipe installed today. I like it. Better throttle response, pulls a bit harder, and makes the exhaust note a little more pronounced. Now I just got to drive it hard for a bit to get rid of the burnt coffee smell that new exhaust parts make when you first install them. HFC's up next...

Ive got the fuji with testpipes it sounds amazing, but there is an annoying rasp at about 3krpms. It doesnt bother me too much now, but if you want your fuji to sound great, testpipes are the way forward.

I don't know about test pipes. One of my friends has given me some Greddy Headers. So, I think I will install these with my hi-flow cats, when they finally show up. Do you guys think installing these headers will be worth the cost of installation? How much of a difference will they make?
