The only danger is if you drive into water that completely submerges the filter- in that case, hydrolock- and yes this is a bad thing.
I've run a CAI on my last three cars and never had a problem. Same with many others on this board.

It's just one step in the mod process.
I only gained torque after a CAI and *Exhaust* combo, CAI alone is just the beggining, unless you are going for looks. The Injen Blue on my Daytona Blue with the painted bay and Blue grounding kit compliment each other.
I did the intake and exhaust to compliment my N20 Kit let it flow more freely. Now I need pulleys and headers and some type of ECU or programmer. That is my path.
The ankle bone is connected to the knee bone etc etc.
You get my point.
I will save you and all other new people some searching time.
CAI alone has not shown gains to justify the cost. It has been talked here to death before they even came out LOL.
In fact it got so bad that when I posted a Dyno chart showing gains the flames got so bad someone even talked about my momma!!!! It's a controversial subject here still open for debate and interpatation. What's funny is that the guy slamming me that claimed to be from a "magazine" disappeared after trollling.
Trolls no good.
It's just a step in the right direction, if you want a stock car stay stock.
You need to decide on what path you want to take on your car before you beging doing anything to it.
Example, don't invest in headers then later decide to go Turbo (unless you sell the headers to me
)
