Default Strup headers...legal?

I searched the forums but could not find a clear answer. With a strup header install will the Z have any problem passing inspection?

nope.

you'll lose some sleep, skin, sanity and desire for sex after the install.

Don't change your cats though....

Just a hint for future reference: This is a general forum. Regional questions are better answered in the appropriate regional forum.

You live in NY, and I do not know the emission laws for NY, sorry.

Here's a good rule of thumb though - if a part has a CARB EO# (california air resources board exemption something) then it is most likely legal in all 50 states.

DC headers have a carb eo#, I don't know about strup

When I installed mine they did not have a carb exempt number on it.

Maybe they do now but I doubt it.

i researched this a while back and charlie wenstrup (ceo) emailed me back telling me that the headers are carb pending, but they have not recieved their exemption # yet. I've heard that once a part gets it's #, it is legal in all 50 states, more importantly california and you can get the carb exempt # from strup after you've already bought the headers. But his email was in feb. 07. I myself am going to wait and check back into this at the end of the year. I dont know if this helps anyone since this tread is silent for a month, but hope it does.

I had my DC Sports headers installed last month and it came with a sticker with the CARB# on it. C.A.R.B. E.O.#D-370-12 is that enough for ya, I hope this helps someone.
