Default hks exhaust y-pipe (weave) question...

oki so i just purchased a used hks exhaust for 500$ but d problem is.previous owner droped his car 2 low d weave from the y-pipe was almost scraped up...good thing is the pipe inside the weave dosent have any holes or scratches im was just wondering if its a big deal or not???

The flex joint is just that: a flexible coupling. Generally, minor abrasion on the exterior does not effect the joint.

If it's not leaking...you're good...it may over time though. The flex joints expand and contract as they heat and cool.

Just keep and ear on it.

the weave was almost scraped up? doesn't that mean it's fine? lol

it should be ok for now, but over time it might slowly start leaking like someone else said.

If it leaks just put exhaust wrap on it. It's a flex pipe so it will eventually leak if it has any damage to it.
