Default Is the Nismo intake worth getting?

I have a mostly stock 06 Z with nismo exhaust, and I am wondering if the nismo intake is worth buying. I mostly want it for sound related reasons as well as any possible performance gains.

I have nismo cold air intake in my Z.
Honestly I don't feel any power gain, but it does give better sound.

i got nismo intake and exhaust installed at same time (only mods so far) made worlds difference in driving. If you don't plan on going F/I, id say go for it. Im selling mine in a few months after I get some F/I

my friend got one, he didn't like it. He said it sounded nice and all but bogged all the time. the only reason he bought it because he has teh nismo exhaust like you and wanted to have the same brands of modifications. He now has a pop charger and even though he said it gets heatsoak, he rather have that then a boggy, long tubed, intake.

Go to a 350Z meet, and look at another Z with the NISMO intake. Its a quality built mod.

There's not a noticable difference between intakes. Most people dont notice the difference with just an intake.

Yeah, if you want sound then go for pop charger, it gives you good sound, looks decent and supposedly gives you some HP gains, but not enough to feel...I think 99% of people think they notice gains when the car sounds louder or meaner.

for a clean , oem looking install go with stillen. it's the same as pop charger, but looks better, and maybe gets less " heatsoaked"

stillen hi flow CAI is what i got too. it gives you a clean look under the hood and the throttle response is crazy and LOUD!

+1 for Stillen.

It has none of the throttle response issues of the long tubes CAI's and none of the hot air ingestion problems of the JWT. It uses the factory cold air inlet (which is cool) and looks the cleanest of them all. For a smoother flow, I have mine mated to a cf intake tube to get rid of the corregations in the factory tube that causes turbulence (which is detrimental to velocity).

One other thing to consider...

I would have got the K&N Typhoon intake, but I have the Stillen license plate bracket which uses the front tow hook mount. The front scoop for the Typhoon is held up by that front tow hook mount.

The Typhoon was my second choice.

The thing that held me off was all that extra piping. I understand that, due to "leaks" in the box, it does not have the lag problems associated with other long tube CAI's because the box is not air tight, it does present the problem of the intake air spending more time/distance in the heat-soaked metal tubing, which would understandably raise the temperature of the intake charge.
