Default how many people have an aftermarket manifold + plenum spacers on a NA Z

hi guys ok i have a few questions, first off how hard is it to change the valve cover gaskets, and what specific tools would i need to do so? i have worked on both my 300zx and my 350z but nothing like this. since i have to change out the gaskets i decided to put in a Kinetix V+ Plenum with a 5/8" plenum spacer, how many people acutally have both together on a NA or FI Z? how well do they work together (HP wise)?

ok and obviously the plenum won't fit under the stock strut bar, so which strut bar would i have to buy... the greddy or the cusco?

also is there someone in So. cal that would help me change out the gaskets and put in the plenum. i'll buy lunch, beers + a lil cash.

Sorry about all the question but i just want to make sure.

Do one or the other. You may increase plenem volume to an extent where it would actually hurt your gains.

Recommend the Motordyne 5/16" spacer. You can put it in yourself and keep the stock strut bar.

^ which one would most likely be better? so both would not be a good idea? would the stock strut bar clear the Kinetix V+ Plenum

i plan on changing the strut bar in the near future. i just wanted to make sure the both the greddy or cusco bar clear it. so if i get the Kinetix V+ Plenum the spacer would most likely do most harm than good?

Your choice really. MD spacer has proven itself well in gains. The stock strut will fit with the kinetix. All you need is some washers to provide some additional clearance.

Yea, the spacer has shown impressive gains, as well as the manifold. I would just do the spacer. It comes with all necessary hardware, including spacers for the strut bar, and is very easily installed. Even if you are not that handy, the instructions from Motordyne walk you through the whole process.

Point me in there direction then so I can ask why. Typically people will decide on one or the other. A typical plenum mod that is combined with a spacer is the MREV and MREV-2. Go to motordyne.com and read about it. It will also explain a lot about the difference between spacers and new plenums.

i have a non-rev engine and i doubt the mrev-2 would be a big difference especially for that price.

Go with the spacer. Forget the Kinetix upper plenum.

I have the non-rev engine and installed the MREV2. Definite difference, but have not dyno'd yet.

I have the MD MREV2 Lower Collector + MD 5/16 ISO Spacer on an '06 Revup.... It defenitly rounds the midrange out under the curve and even a little up top.... I am UTEC tuned (with multiple other mods as well) so I can't speak to MD exlusively on a stock setup... But I'd do the MD mod again if I had a different Z for sure. Plus their customer support is second to none... Seriously... :-)

Good choice. Now you can ditch your AEM intake, buy a pop charger or 06 Airbox, then use that extra money and buy even more stuff!
