Default Air intake Bracket??????HELP

OK!! So today I'm at 7-11 and notice smoke coming from under my hood. . At first I think that the Z overheated yet my temperature gauge was below half like usual. So I drive for like 1 mile to the theater, open my hood and behold.........................it's my Freon leaking from the skinny tube that's directly underneath my air filter.

At this point I am pissed because there goes all my freon.

What happened is that I put a regular cone filter on, the weight of it made it sag and it was rubbing on that skinny aluminum tube that's part of the A/C. So it rubbed enough to have punctured it.

I don't know if I'm going to have to change that whole piece out because it wraps around behind the firewall, or MAYBE, I can solder it and recharge the freon. I really don't want to take it to the Stealership because who knows how much that's going to cost me. So I'm thinking of taking it to a shop. I will post pics tomorrow morning, too late and too dark outside.

I just never imagined that the metal ring from the cone filter sitting on this aluminum tube would rub in to cause a puncture. WEIRD. SO................

where can I get a bracket like the one that comes with the JWT popcharger which holds the air filter from sagging down????????? ANYONE????

Intake tubes, especially the long ones that fit in front of the bumper, are know to rub and destroy air conditioning lines. Because of the pressure inside the lines, tubes are replaced not patched. And yes it can be expensive. Check the marketplace for a complete used pop charger. Other than that, you may have to fabricate a bracket. Best of luck.

I keep trying to find a part number and no luck.

Default sorry dude

the exact same thing happened to my friends accord, you should never have anything touching the A/C lines. he had to get everything replaced, cost about 300.
