Obviously, they were shooting for maximum weight savings by using only one pipe. Functionally this is ideal, provided there is no constriction.
Asthetically, if I bought this I'd almost be inclined to put a fake exhaust outlet on the left side. 60lbs is a lot of weight...

It may only be 12lbs but that seems to be comparing apples to oranges from the pic. Assuming the stock weight it from the cats to the tips, this only covers behind Y-pipe. No wonder you save 60lbs, you're only buying 1/2 the piping!
