yeah thats the design i'm looking for but those look like ones that you bolt on and i've seen those on mustangs before and it looks like a$$. I want something that would be welded and not look cheap

 

, then you need to get the whole mufler then...u can always weld those vibrant tips to the pipes ...u runing the sts setup right?

but even if i welded them they would still have the spots on the sides where the screws go in and it looks like that would be fairly visible (at least if its like the other bolt on tips that i've seen)

 

weilding Ti is far from the easiest thing to do anyways...

^ true...but those are pretty much the only TI tip that is around the market. about 6 months ago i was planning on putting some TI tips on a custom exhaust but found the same tip but decided against it because of the bolts....didn't like the look of the bolts on my friends HKS and i knew i wouldn't like these bolts. GL

im not shure...i know there are some HKS fan-boys around here but haven't posted. I know i saw a few threads a while back that the bolts came loose on an HKS tip...not sure if they where bolted on holding the actual tip or just for show. try PM-ing a vendor on here, im sure they should know.


OR change the title to "HKS rocks" and all the HKS owners will chime in on the tip stuff lol jk

you can't easily weld ti to stainless (if at all)....and welding ti needs very very specialized equipment

Yes HKS tips are bolted on from underneath

 

its not too hard if your familiar with it i weld for a living so its easy for me

I'm in the same boat, my tips where damaged in an accident and since I'm getting them replaced I wanted to go Titanium but I agree about the visible bolts looking tacky... If I can avoid it I would like too.

 

Those tips will work just fine. They are a SS base with a Ti tip. Just cut the stainless steel pase right were it goes from straight round tube to an angle to meet the Ti tip. Then you will still be able to weld it onto a stainless steel tip of the same diameter.

While someone said that welding Ti is easy if you are familiar with it is true. The point is not entirely how easy it is to weld but the facility it take. If you think that you can weld titanium in a normal welding booth then you don't know much about welding titanium since titanium is extremely suceptable to impurities during welding and needs a very well controlled environment to weld correctly and have strength.

i say you cut the part with the bolt hold off and weld it on there. It would look just like the HKS Ti basically.
