Arrow Oh...my Warranty

Hey guys

I have been confused with my warrant

actually I have 2007z so I have warranty yet

so today I went to Nissan and ask them about Fujitsubo Legalis R Exhaust.

They said If I install this kit, I could not get ant warranty from nissan.

I just thought that they may do that-_-;;

Anyway If I install Fujitsubo Legalis R Exhaust with giving up warraty...

Do you guys think......is it ok?

thanks

First of all, according to the Magnusson-Moss act, no car manufacturer may void your warranty unless they prove that the part you modified actually caused the problem. Putting an aftermarket exhaust on your car will not void your warranty on the entire car, just the exhaust itself. I doubt they can void your entire engine warranty, that would definitely be a stretch. If something does happen to your car after putting the exhaust on, it will have to be up to Nissan to prove that your exhaust was the cause of the problem for them to deny you warranty work.

the worse that will happen is you will get charged from here on out for repairs that involve removing your exhaust. We had a TSB awhile back for the refueler hose. Some people with aftermarket exhausts were getting charged labor to remove and reinstall the aftermarket exhaust. That wasn't a warranty issue, but i'm sure the same guidelines would exist.

Ok this is how a warranty works unless the dealership wants to be ****** there will not be a warranty on the new exhaust from nissan but you should get a parts warrany with the exhaust

the only thing about your original warranty that will be void is your factory exhaust because it is removed which is better since the new parts warranty should out live thr standard

Nissan cannot void your entire warranty for swapping in a new y-pipe back exhaust system. And of course they will not warrant the new system itself....they didn't make any money from it (since they did not sell it to you) so they have no vested interest.

If they ever try to charge you money to fix a warranty problem because they have to remove your aftermarket exhaust, I would raise the BS flag on it real fast. It's the same configuration and mounting locations as the OEM exhaust so it should make no difference.

The mag-moss act isn't worth a **** unless you are willing to lawyer up, have your car sit unrepaired for months, possibly yrs, and then in the mean time pay out your @ss for court costs, laywer fees, time off work, replacement car, etc.

Wait till you come across a situation which involves an aftermarket component and your warranty and watch the dealership laugh in your face when you pull out your big "mag-moss act - gun"
