Default 07 style intake manifold on DE engines?

would the dual intake fit on a regular DE engine??? I think that would really help our upper rpm horsepower numbers.

No. Not only would the manifold and the air filters phsycially fit under the hood, but you'd have to buy a full standalone engine management system to control dual throttle bodies....

always a downer huh... if it will physically fit, some custom piping out to the front of the engine into a gigantic cold air pipe and custom filter with some custom brackets... and of course, the ever loved, utec.... IF it all fits?

I understand the issues that were mentioned, most of which are easily resolved. The one thing I'm curious about is how easy, or difficult, it will be to get the intake runners (the portion that connects the lower plenum to the heads) to match up with a DE?

The HR has .3" (of I remember right) taller decks, so that puts the intake ports on the heads a little further apart, approximately .3" (because the sin 30° is 1/2). So for it to fit a DE you have to grind/mill the intake runners down a little bit, just over 1/8" per side. What I haven't figured out yet is how much & if by the time you do that it makes it so bolt holes don't line up & the transition between runners & head gets all screwed up. If I end up with a spare $300 I may purchase the HR runners & see if I can get it to work, if so I'll grab the plenum & solve my need for a custom intake system, since the DE manifolds with the elbow on the back will not fit my 510 properly.

do it man, do a write up and see if it gives us any better top end. I think it'd also be better for the DE's when they use a TT setup... but who knows.
