Actually MREV2 is useless for the non revup motor he has , so its acually a waste of money . The spacer and the kinetic plenum are close to the same price , bit do the same thing. I went plenum cause its plasic and wont heat soak like the factory alum upper

Spoken like somebody who doesnt know $hit. MANY people have cracked those with low boost levels, even though they claim it holds XX boost I owned an original rewelded Crawford plenum from about 4 years ago! It cracked on me recently at the welds from running 13+psi. I replaced it with a 1/2" MD spacer, works great, pulls harder from 6000rpm's+ the thing is big, and no leaks. I need to put washers on my hood though cuz it does rub enough that it marked the powder coating on the upper plenum. Pics

so for a non rev-up Z, the 5/16' spacer is what is best? Also i heard about how the spacer will change the sound of your car? I have a nismo exhaust, is the spacer going to make a noticeable change in sound? ANd if it will, in what way will it change it? Deeper? Louder? The reason im asking is because i dont want the spacer to take away the sound of the NIsmo. but if it will make it louder in the low RPMs, im all for it

Non revup-choose bewteen Crawford, or 5/16" to keep stb, 1/2" if you want MINIMAL gains over (5/16")it and lose the stb. Engine growl through intake wil be slightly deeper, nothing crazy.

to the OP, if you want a show look, get a polished plenum, it looks 100% better then the black plastic. get the 5/16th spacer with the iso thermal gasket and you are good for show and go.

ok so with the spacer the growl through the intake will be deeper. Is this sound change any noticeable when heard on the outside? In other words, would a friend standing on the outside notice that the sound is different?

Yes Kinetic had problems with the first few designs , and the latest hasnt had any problems.

Do you seriously think its the same polymer that is used in guns? Thats like saying gas is gas, 87 octane or 116 octane its the same Just drop it, your wrong. I wouldnt recommend that plenum to anybody...

You are thinking way too into it. It is HARDLY to NOT noticable from outside the car. Your exhaust note isnt going to change to the point your describing above.

Just a side note - we recently dyno'd my built turbocharged car with a 5/16" plenum spacer. The thing was blowing out and leaking after about 12psi, so we took the spacer out. We gained an immediate 30+whp.

Not saying they aren't bad, but the stock plenum is great for boost unless someone like Cosworth can design one that's fully intended to make use of positive manifold pressure.

I'd never use the Kraknetix plastic plenum on a boosted car.
