Friday night me and a buddy took the stock muffler off so that I could have some legal "weight" saving for the Divisional autcross this past weekend. Was an easy job, I spent about $8 at autozone for some exhaust pipe for a turn down. Here's some photos of the results, not exaclty beautiful, but hey it works rather well.

Let me know what you think. I realize the job may be a little hoosier, but as I need to get some wheels/tires for autocross it'll have to do for now, and it's easy enough to put the stock muffler back on I can do it in probably 30 minutes.

 

i think the sounds is incredible! maybe it would be worth just getting a staight pipe built with tips so it comes back out in the proper location. Do you feel any diiference with it like that? Any power increases?

I am thinking about getting a custom straight pipe made that would still use the stock resonator, as to not increase the sound too much, and then split somewhere to fill the exhaust cutouts on the rear. I'd also go with a custom Y pipe as well, but that will be a while before I go that far.

I am going to try to dyno this car this weekend, with and without the muffler, I can't tell if it has more power or not, but it sounds good!
