Hm i think you have the older version of the Injen exhaust. Thats probably why they revised it with an H-pipe and such. How many miles did you have on yours?

I don't think the OPs is that old, when I had mine (straight tip some time in 05), it did not have the gussets welded onto the cans. Since they have added those extra braces on newer systems, this is probably a high stress point that has gotten back to them as warranty issues and breaks here may be fairly common.
With the perforated pipe broken the way it is, for a proper repair the resonator should be fully replaced, and if you are not replacing with Injen parts, both sides should be replaced.

Actually, his version and the one i have are quite different.
Compare those pictures to the OP's pictures. You'll see the various differences. The newer one looks alot sturdier than the old one.

But his with the gussets is the newest of the non-Ti tip Super SES, probably made in late 05 or 06. If you look at davidv pic, that is what the resonators looked like without the gussets.
You have the Ti tip type, with larger 60mm pipe, slip fit rear cans, it is an entirely different system.
