you definitely just got used to it because the nismo exhaust lasts 7,000-10,000 before it stops working

you've got to be kidding me...you probably just got used to the sound. Throw in some testpipes, that'll wake you up haha

you definitely got used to it. i had a loud flowmaster on my old camaro and passengers would always wonder how i dealt with the sound. it was completely normal to me.

Well, one possibility is that one of your cats has come apart and is blocking the pipe, but that also usually shows reduced power.

Goes to show, it pays to research before you buy.

I have another possible cause. It has been noted here many times that the Nismo is quiet until you get on it and then it opens up.

Maybe your not driving it right?

+1 Adding HFC's even livened up my stock exhaust. Sounds a lot more aggressive in the 2-3k range and a little bit meaner in the 4k+ range. It'll also give you a bit more high-end power.

LOL I believe the OP means it sounds like it has no exhaust meaning it is loud.

If that's the case you probably blew out your mid pipe gasket.

I had mine replaced 5 times in a year and a half. Long story but I bet it's one of your gaskets. Might have cracked though.

When mine went out it sounded like a monster truck.

i just installed my nismo exhaust yesterday, and i already had the nismo headers. it definately wasnt as loud as i thought it would be but i still love it! you should find a stock exhaust and listen to it again.
