Default Nismo CAI & air duct???

I bought a Nismo CAI and a Varis cf air duct but I have yet to install them. Has anyone ever had any problems with it? I have never done any mods in terms of the engine. At first I was all for it but poeple have been telling me that the intake it would only mess up my engine in the long run. Now I'm a little skeptical about putting it on. I would assume that it would be fine since it's nismo. If anyone can give me some feedback I would greatly appreciate it.

if you have a CAI why do you have a air duct?the duct is used for short rams or stock airbox. You could install both but I think it would be pointless because the duct is taking in air from the front bumper but if you had the CAI on too the the piping would be in the way so the duct wouldn't be function.so its like you have 2 options get a pop charger type intake and do the duct or just put the CAI on.did that make sense?if not cut me some slack its 1:45am

Basically same as what datsunHEAD said. The air duct is a ram air to get a direct flow to the intake. The Nismo Intake puts the filter directly infront of the wheel well.

And as far as the Nismo hurting your engine. I don't think it will. Your not going to see a substantial power increase, but you will get some sound and it looks good in the engine bay. I will post a picture of my intake.

The NISMO intake is long with the filter behind the bumper. What do you intend to do with the air duct?

Air duct is 80% aesthetics and 20% functional.

With a Nismo CAI, the air duct is 100% aesthetic.

Cold-air intakes have even been proves to lose power due to the multiple bends, etc.
