I think they are still testing, but should be available at www.nfcmotorsports.com soon. A little bird told me something about a test with a car with intake, exhaust and plenum that might be coming soon.

I had heard they were available but the 6 HP gain I was told was with a y-pipe as well and that they thought the cats contributed 3 HP!!

That's an awesome gain. I heard high flow cats don't flow that much more over stock. I can't wait to see what my pipes are bringing to the ground... besides trees and old women with breathing problems.

OK, I live in a state that doesn't test emissions. But when I told my dad that I was thinking about removing the cats, he freaked out and said that if I go to a state that checks for them I would go underneath the jail, lol.

My question is, if I were to drive to California, but I still had Arkansas tags, could they get me for not having cats??? I mean, my car is from Arkansas, could they get me??? And would this be true for me driving through any other state??? I am talking about if I remove the cats completely.

You have a certain amount of time to vacate the state as my dad put it. For example, when youre 17 in NJ you get a license, but in New York you don't get one till you're 18 (hypothetical, not sure if this is still the case). Your NJ license IS honored in NY, but only for a 30 day max duration.

However, just because your state doesn't check emissions doesn't make it legal to take the cats off. It's illegal across the 50 states. It's a federal law. Caveat emptor.

Yes, I believe California could and would cite you. Reason being, I was in military in california, with car registered in florida and got pulled over for tinted windows. I tried to reason with the officer that since I had florida registration, it was ok to have tinted windows. He said no. I asked if that were the case even if I was just passing through the state, and he said they still weren't allowed, and I could be ticketed, period.

Colin,

I'm interested in the Mines straight pipes. Two questions: Will they throw a cel? Is the 13-15hp at the crank (any dynos?)?

Thanks!!

Both people who I know that have used test pipes in their car have not thrown any check enging lights as long as you plug in the o2 sensor to the bung holes on the pipes. The only time I have heard of cel going on is if you leave the car sitting at idle for an extended amount of time like 20 minutes. The dyno numbers of 13-15hp came from hyper rev magazine, so i'm assuming its rwhp, since the same magazine claimed 6hp from a cat back exhaust, which seems consistent with exhaust dynos from people on this board. Please let me know if you ahve any ohte questions, or send me a PM if you like
-Colin

P.S. I'm ordering the Mine's test pipes for my car as well
