Default test pipes

I Have the invidia n-1 exhaust and Im in the market for test pipes. I heard topspeed/rs-r/ invidia dont make rasp with non- res tp because the way the exhaust is set up. Is this true?
Now i need to know what tp are good for the z? quality is the key. I have the 07 model.

berk has a good set of tp? I know the threads have come up about berk hfc cracking. Could this be the same problem for the TP as well?

I love my Labree resonated test pipes! Quality is top notch. Don't know how they would sound on with the Invidia though.

If you have the Invidia N-1 exhaust, then it must be pretty damn loud. Adding in test pipes into the mix (with or without appropriately sized y-pipe), will make it even louder. That's all personal preference, though.

As far as the rasp goes, all test pipes will you give you that. It doesn't matter if it's resonated or not. The severity depends on the exhaust/test pipe combination.

Also, don't waste your money on all these expensive exhausts if you drag race (or even like to be aggressive at times). I've broken the welds on all of my previous test pipes (excluding the current one, but I know I will eventually) from all my aggressive launches and shifts at the drag strip.

And make sure you buy the appropriate test pipes for your Z. 07-08 (HR engines) don't have a wide selection at the moment, if I recall correctly. In addition, the HR Z's are having a problem with the CEL coming on, even with the non-foulers. Not only is that annoying and isn't all that great as the ECU will be pulling a bit of timing, you'll also have a hard time passing inspection.

megan racing. they come with resonators + flex pipes so they're pretty hard to crack. ive had mine for about a month with no problems and they're also pretty cheap in price.

We have a "learning" ECU where the ECU adjusts various aspects of the car depending on its input signals from various sensors. When our cars throw a SES/CEL code, related to exhaust components for example, it can adjust the adjust a few aspects of the engine to now run as aggressively as it could to prevent damage. As far as the ECU knows, when you throw a code from having test pipes, it thinks your cats have gone bad. As a result, it will also pull timing to run less aggressively, which also means less emissions (our cars were also designed with emissions in mind as are other cars).

Again, I'd like to stress my previous post to you. Read and re-read it and keep it in mind.

Let me know if you have more questions and I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities/knowledge.

I didn't say that.

All I'm saying is:
-read up on how to avoid or get rid of the CEL light for your Z (huge thread here)
-buy whatever test pipes you want (they'll all eventually crack/break with aggressive driving)

I ran ebay test pipes for 20K miles with no problems on my G. Just make sure to get ones that allow for connection to the chassis.

Going from a smaller piping size to a bigger one doesn't affect anything. It's when you do the opposite, you end up with turbulence inside your pipes, which could also result in loss of power.

From your sig, it says you have test pipes and Invidia exhaust. Buying any aftermarket y-pipe that isn't stock-sized, will be beneficial to your set up. It'll be louder, though.
