Default Z1 Motorsports angled plenum spacer

Is it really necessary to raise the STB with washers when using this spacer? Or, is it only a matter of adjusting the center bolt?

I had to use spacers with my AAM angled spacer.
I tried without any spacers first, but the car vibrated when engine was running.
Don't know why it wouldn't work with even amount per side though.
It took a couple diferent tries, but I ended up having to go 2 spacers high on the passenger side, and 3 high on the driver side. (1/16" thick spacers)
2 x 2 was too low and it rubbed, and 3x3 the bar was almost an inch above the plenum and was hitting the hood.

I am using 1 washer on the outside and 2 washers on the inside of each strut tower. It seems though that there is plenty of room between the STB and the plenum. I am going to try without and see how it goes.
