Taking off test pipes, putting on cats...
Sorta a dumb question, I've had test pipes on the car the entire time I owned it, I replaced my O2 sensors recently and it started throwing a SES light, it says my cats are running below efficiency, I have antifoulers, I haven't put em on yet, and I don't think I'm going to, so my question, will I notice the power loss? lol. I'm used to having the sound and them on there, but the only thing I care about is the power, lol. And I've been running with the light on for a while and I read that it can start giving me detonation if it runs lean enough, I'd hate to hurt my baby over test pipes, lol.

So the title says you are putting on the catalytic converter but you say you are putting the antifouler back on?
If you put the cat on - yes power loss
defouler - no power loss
If you put the cat on - yes power loss
defouler - no power loss
I'm gonna say HFC's - you won't notice anything bad...esp if your getting a SES now...cars don't run right with the CEL on....usually the car will run rich once it thinks the cats aren't working.

Nah I said I have the antifoulers and I didn't think I was gonna put em on, I keep reading that they don't really work, lol.

It can cause your engine to get a little gunky...should injure your gas mileage...and can make you high on unburnt fuel. (I am assuming its running Rich, b/c all the cars I've seen w/ bad O2 sensors have run rich.)
I'd fix it, but I really hate seeing SES. Not to mention the Car Gods would probably strike me down, and set my Z on fire if I let it go. I have that sort of luck.
Oh yeah, it will(or has) likely ruined your new O2 sensors

You could get metallic cats. They act similarly to test pipes. When exposed to high exhaust temperatures, they actually quieten down and act like cats. And they don't throw a SES light. At least Berk's cats don't throw it.
detonation is highly unlikely over lean conditions produced by test pipes. You will notice a power difference on the top end at first, but will probably fade away over time. If you hate rasp then it might be worth the switch.
As stated above, switching to HFCs will give the best of both worlds. HP, Sound quality and in your case NO CIL. Take care.

Thanks for the input everyone, I think I'm gonna put on the antifoulers, and test that out and see if the code clears cause I really do love the sound. If that still fails I'll put on the stock cats, I was more concerned that it would damage something.

I agree with what gsingh said.
