Default X02 Exhaust owners.......have i got a solution for your ugly tips :)

Well, lets admit it. The tips on this exhaust go to crap after a few months. My solution........powdercoat it. Standard powdercoat is good for over 400 degrees F, your tips shouldnt see that temp ever.

No pre pics, but if you have the tips you know what they look like. These are Chasers720 tip's. They are not done yet. I will be going back to remove the purple ring, just not feeling it.

Pictures:

What i call Stage 1, just a coat of argent silver. Its covers all the minor scrapes scratches and discolorations. It produces a shiny, slightly orange peeled finish.

What i would call stage 2, blue stripe (shown with purple but thatll be going away)

If you guys are interested i could put some pricing together. You can request any thickness for the blue stripe or purple strip. I can do other colors as well like red, black, bronze ect.

What do yall think?

In all honesty, that looks way too fake. I would rather have them chromed or polished than powder coated silver.

Idk about chrome, may be a bit too shiny. And polishing these tips may not be an option. Theyre supposed to be SS but yet they tarnish easily. They really need a coating of some sort.

does a clear powdercoat exist? thinking it does. but not sure.

if so, polish, then reburn them....and PC clear.

show pics once the purple is gone...I'm curious, but I don't think I'm gonna like it.

Yes, a clear PC does exist. I have not tried it since all my powders are high gloss anyway. If someone is interested in that i can give it a go.

Would a darker silver be more appealing?

I know what youre saying about the purple.....i dont like it either. I think with just the blue tip they will look fine.

I dont care for the burnt tips, the standards PC'd to match the exhaust would look good imo

I would probably do just silver for 30 and if you want blue tips add like 15 more. That would include return shipping.
