Are headers worth installing?

Only if you pair them with HFC's or test pipes.

I installed CrawfordZ headers (considered the best 350Z headers by many people). I did a fairly controlled dyno run before this. I didn't change anything else on the car. Then I had it tuned at Uprev and I gained maybe 1-2 horsepower. The headers caused the engine bay to run much hotter than with the stock manifolds, eventually burning through an evap line. I had the headers removed when I fixed the evap line.

This is just my own experience, with the right mods and tuning (maybe camshafts), you might see gains but it's one of the last mods I would recommend doing. Go for high-flow cats (Berk or CrawfordZ perhaps), plenum, exhaust, and of course a reflash from Uprev to get the full potential out of these mods.
