Default Test pipe question

I was gonna buy the stillen test pipes (race pipe/cat delete) but heard from local guys that I would throw a CEL with any after market cat deletes. Anyone have experience with this, is there a test pipe (race pipe) out there that wont cause this issue? Thx in advance

If you drive an 03 Z, your chances of throwing a CEL b/c of test pipes is very slim.

On the HR motor I heard it was very likely you would throw a CEL from test pipes....

Iv'e heard of a few fixes for them.. some people dont have problem with just the bung and other people need to stuff it with some steel wool (which I consider a "ghetto fix".)

Also Is it bad to purchase and run test pipes without a tune?

not sure if you are still interested in doing this, however i just helped my friend with these today.... his stillen pipes (bought used) came with software that tapped into the stock O2 wires, 4 taps and 1 ground.... no CEL light

have fun getting the top bolt on the driver side off, the steering column is right in the friggin way.....
