Default removing cats

mind the noob..

i've been talking with friends, and they're saying the cats restricts some performance values, that without those cats, one can gain a little extra.

is this true?

if so, can i just replace them with test pipes? and what about the CEL?

bear in mind, it's not illegal to have those cats removed in my country.

thnx

theres a ton of info on this if u search around, most test pipes now have the built in defoulers, but remember test pipes will give u rasp where high flows dont and give similar gains to test pipes and will not throw cel and no gas smells etc.

^i've done my search. i couldn't find what i was looking for, cuz mainly everyone starts complaining about it being illegal to remove. other than than, ppl replace those cats with HFCs.

what gains am looking at (with either t-pipes or HFCs)? 1-5whp?

thnx for the input guys.
