Cool Heat shield wrap on headers, Good or Bad?

Have heard through a few friends, in auto land, that header wrap, may damage the headers, in the long run?

Any true Grease Monkiees...know the fax?

I heat wrapped, silicon sealed, and silicon sprayed my Tomei headers, test pipes, Motordyne Exhaust. Though the headers are not on the car yet, the wrapping of exhaust and TP made my car sound better.
