Motordyne Shockwave Single
First off I want to thank everyone at Motordyne for creating such a beasty exhaust. I also want to thank Miketsi for the exhaust and Abb2autodesigns for the Ichiba Y-pipe.
So after two weeks I finally got the exhaust installed and I love it, it sounds soooo sick. Its a littler deeper than the stock exhaust and definitely a lot louder. I was driving around today and this exhaust turned a lot of heads. I've gotten a lot compliments about it. Another thing I love about the Shockwave is the way it pops. The craftsmanship is amazing. It was also easy to install, it took me about an hour to put the exhaust and y pipe on.
The only difficult part of the whole process was uninstalling the old exhaust. What a pain in the *** it is to remove it especially when you only have two jack stands and a curb raising the car. Every freakin bolt/nut was rusted and took a lot of Pbblaster to remove them. The reason why it took me so long to get the new exhaust on was because the passenger side nut that holds the y-pipe and mid pipe together rounded off and wasn't moving at all, it seemed like it was welded onto the dam flange. Because of that stupid nut I had to get a new y-pipe. Once all the bolts were off the mid and y-pipe came off pretty easy. The worst part of the whole uninstall was the heavy *** muffler. I spent a good hour trying to get it off the rubber hangers. Finally I was able to get it off by removing the whole rubber hanger that easy to get to on the passenger side and by removing the whole bracket thats holding the rubber hanger on the driver side. Then I let the whole muffler hang so that the third hanger would stretch and then i just pulled it off. If anyone is going to remove their exhaust I suggest you use the method I used to get the muffler off. Now onto the pics:
This is the nut that I was talking about:
The clamp has some damage to it. Tony if you think this is going to cause problems later on let me know and I'll order a new one from you.
These vids dont do the exhaust any justice, I'm going to try and get a better camera and some better vids soon.
