Default Water on the AEM filter !

It was raining hard yesterday and I had a cut out underneath the AEM filter for better airflow. When I got home I check out the filter right away and it was all wet but the car was running fine. I was wondering why it didnt suck in the water?

the oil is suposed to keepthings like water and small particles out... but it did suck insome water... which is fine..
