Default Nismo muffler only: what now?

Hey guys,

I'm from The Netherlands and exhausts are really hard to come by here because of extremely high shop prices or high shippingrates and custom duties when ordering overseas.

So I was very excited when I found a brand new Nismo exhaust in Germany for 600 euro which I bought right away.

I owned this exhaust on my other 350Z which I sold and I specifically want this exhaust for its sound and looks. The plan is to couple it with Berk HFC's and there will be a Vortech Supercharger coming somewhere later this year.

Today I got my package and I guess it was too good to be true because it turns out it's only the muffler section without the mid-pipe and y-pipe. The seller didn't state this clearly and now I wonder what to do...

Try to get a refund and return it or look for a seperate mid-pipe and y-pipe.

What is my best option? Is the Nismo mid-pipe even for sale?

as of right now
600.00 EUR = 842.356 USD

1 EUR = 1.40393 USD 1 USD = 0.712288 EUR

ouch! I would contact the seller and try to work this out.

no it's not from this board. it was a german e-bay auction showing a picture of a 350z with the complete exhaust installed. i couldn't understand the description which was in german but i mailed with the seller in english and he said it was new in box. it never crossed my mind to ask if it was complete as they are only sold complete (maybe not through the dealer??) and because he said it was new in box. anyways i have mailed him so i'm just gonna wait for his response. i think it's genuine miscommunication and not a ripoff.

yeah the first time i found my nismo exhaust also for 875 or something on ebay.. now i can not find them cheaper than 1100 usd. then add the 450 shipping and 20% customs duties. now you see how 600 euro would have been a killer deal.

if i go to a tuner shop or the dealer a nismo exhaust will be 1500 to 2500 euro.

You could go to an exhaust shop and have a custom midpipe made, easiest way to solve your problem. May not be full Nismo but better than nothing

^ take tylers question into consideration.

I would work with the seller, look at the auction again and verify it wasn't YOU who made the mistake of not misreading it. if it was advertised as the entire s-tune system, and you only received the muffler, then I would be complaining and working something out.

yeah if it was advertised as a s-tune make sure it is a s-tune because if its not that is enough reason right there to return it...but also see what the listing says for sure because i am betting u have a regular tail section off a nismo z...lemme know

i didn't buy it through the auction but outside ebay.. i offered him the 600 euro and he agreed so he cancelled the auction..

i can still see the auction in my ebay account and this is the title, description and the picture:

NEU Sportauspuff Nissan 350Z Nismo S-Tune 350 z S Tune

Viel Erfolg beim Bieten

now that i read the description again i see him say "Endtopf" which must mean something like exhaust endpipe and he also says he is selling it for a friend and that he is running the whole exhaust himself. the picture is of his own car because he didn't want to unpack the exhaust which is new in box.

at the time i paste the description in the google translator which translates "endtopf" as "exhaust" so i had no way of knowing..

all in all i think the seller should have made it clear we were talking about the muffler only as he knew i didn't speak german and he could have known i might not understand this from the unclear title, description and picture.

he clearly advertised it as the s-tune so if it's not he is wrong on that for sure.

i did some googling on the serial number and it seems to be the s-tune muffler.

guess i will keep just keep the muffler and go look for a mid-pipe and y-pipe.

well it does seem to be a s-tune...if u get a nismo mid-pipe u can bolt that up to ur stock y pipe if u wanted, or u could search for a different y pipe too...honestly dont go with the nismo y pipe it is known for cracking issues, its a little too short...
motordyne xyz is the best y pipe u can buy imo...i have it and love it..worth every penny, i have the one with resonator ....motordyne engineering search it
