Default Anyone running Nismo exhaust with Berk HFC?

Hi
Is anyone running a Nismo exhaust (with Nismo Y-pipe) and have also fitted Berk high flow cats? How are your cats and Nismo Y-pipe holding out, any issues, cracks and how many miles approx have you put on the Berks?

I'm thinking of getting some Berk metallic high flow cats but have heard issues of getting HFC and Nismo Y-pipe, where the hfc or the Y-pipe crack.

I've done a lot of searches on this but not found out definitive answers.

Thanks for any info.

So far so good here. I have the Berk metallic high flow cats and Nismo Y-pipe. Been on for about 7k miles or a year and a half.
I love the sound a WOT.

get a different y pipe, dont use the nismo y pipe or expect cracking issues with any high flows or test pipes, ...happened to me with my berk high flows, and also i went through 2 sets of berk high flow cats due to prematurely failing

u would love motordyne xyz w/resonator even more, trust me

plus like i said i ended up cracking a set of high flow cats at the welds where it is mounted to the bracket on each side and also a cracked nismo mid pipe...now i have no worries and if u compare the 2 the nismo y pipe is shorter and puts more stress on other parts

^I just bought an used Nismo exhaust with Nismo Y-pipe. The owner before me got test pipes and busted both flex pipes on the Nismo Y-pipe. Now I have to fix the flex pipes or get new Y pipe. Is Motordyne XYZ w/resonator that good? How much is it?

A local guy is selling an used AAM y-pipe with 1k miles for $200. Wonder if it's a good price.

I'm going to have the shop do the swap tonight. I'm going with Nismo y-pipe with Nismo exhaust for now. I also have my HR y-pipe, which i'm planning to replace the Nismo y-pipe once it's busted.

Or should I can buy the used AAM y-pipe and sell both the hr y-pipe and Nismo y-pipe? Suggestions?

if u have high flows or test pipe and u are running the nismo y pipe it will crack your test pipes or high flow cats, the y pipe is not what cracks!!, it causes cracking at the test pipes or high flows whichever u have....Ur best bet from the options u listed is to buy the AAM y pipe and run that and sell the HR and nismo y pipe...

u might have a bad cat or cats..i went through a few sets of berk high flows due to them getting clogged up and breaking up inside..if checking for cracks check all the welds on the high flow cats where they bolt to the frame to the cat and all ur welds on ur y pipe and mid pipe

Bump for more answers. I plan on going with the Nismo S-Tune exhaust and Berk HFCs next summer because the Nismo has, hands down, the nicest sound out of any of the exhausts on the market for the 350z (IMHO of course).

Will the HFCs definitely cause the y-pipe to crack?

Hmm, I would like more people to comment on this thread as well, I don't want to make another nismo s tune exhaust thread. I just got a nismo s tune, and while the sound is pretty nice, its not much louder than stock. It is actually quieter than test pipes with the stock exhaust. If I get hfc or tp with nismo, is it really that loud? I used to run tp with a 3in single....comparison??

i have a bunch of videos some with nismo catback with the nismo y pipe in place with berk high flow cats and also vids of the berk test pipes with the motordyne xyz w resonator and the nismo s tune mid and tail section which sounded mean as hell and perfect..exactly what i was looking for..but all my vids are on a tape and need to be converted to a disc so i can upload them...ill try and get on it..

i will say do not run the nismo y pipe with any high flows or test pipes, u will have cracking issues throughout the exhaust at some point..i went thru a few sets of high flow cats and 1 mid pipe using that y pipe before switching to the xyz
