HELP! throttle body spacer..
ok im installing a new throtle body spacer... and when looking at it from the 'driver side' (LH). i can reach all the bolts, except the lower right with a 10mm socket. with the way the throttle body is designed, you can not get a 10mm socket down on that side. any suggustions?
I assume you’re referring to a VQ35DE engine setup. On mine, the four bolts holding the throttle body on, have 5mm Allan heads (instead of hex heads) and are no problem to access with an Allan key. You didn’t mention what was blocking your socket, if it’s just a case of the casting being too close to the edge of the bolt head to allow the socket to fit, try a thinner wall socket. For instance if you’re using a 1/2 inch drive socket try a slimmer 1/4 inch drive one, or if something else in in the way, use a crow’s foot wrench.
Can you provide some more details?

You should be able to reach them all without lifting the plenum. You can remove your upper plenum if you can't get it off. That's what I ended up doing since I couldn't get the leverage to break those stubborn bolts free.
I would really hope you didn't get suckered into paying for a throttlebody spacer. I still don't understand why so many people think they work.
