To fit 350z exhausts on a g35, there are extensions. So yes, you would need to shorten it to fit a 350z.

The HKS for the 350Z and G35 are the same exhaust. You will get two 6" extensions with the exhaust when you purchase it. The extensions are for the G35, the 350Z does not require them. To use on the G35 you simply bolt in the extensions. To use on the 350Z you either unbolt them or do not install them at all.
