Default Best Exhaust system in the world or is it?

We report, you decide haha. That slogan is funny. (NAME REMOVED) the guy that has a home garage swap thing in Louisiana. His exhaust/intake setup is this.

VQ30 2in y-pipe. to a 2 1/4in OD merge. And a 60MM OD after that.

This is the claimed best and highest HP exhaust that ever existed. It adds even more backpressure since it is a 60MM QR25 4 banger exhaust. What do you all think? Is he on to something? Do we really need to be running 2in exhausts for the most part?

He uses this setup on a customer's car when he ran 12.29 at 110. He had JWT C8 cams, a little over 11:1 compression and a technosquare reflash. Also claims he is making 320-330 WHP, bit of a stretch or you think he is really making that? He had some headwork done as well. Stock valve size. We're looking at basically cams, reflash, higher compression .020 over and bolt ons. Lightweight flywheel.

From the VQ35DE world what do you think? I haven't even seen many in the NA section breaking 300, let alone 325 without some serious work. Let me know! I know I made 315 NA on the FWD VQ. I'm not 100% done with my tune yet either probably another 10whp in the VVT and some more tuning.

No there isn't any testing or anything, it is from his mouth the best exhaust setup that ever lived. Free flowing, highest HP, exact amount of back pressure. The car never dynoed just a receipt of his track slip. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

The word "backpressure" is what worries me. It gets overused too much. Velocity is what's important to maximize. Not backpressure.

I have a VQ35DE engine swap in my car, from a FWD maxima. Same stuff, I just wanted to get your ideas if having that much back pressure is really a good thing...

I see 350z 70-75MM exhaust upgrades all day for sale so I wouldn't think running a 60MM pipe would benefit...

You forgot to mention that Barry's car has an exhaust cutout..
Barry wanted the 60mm for daily driving, and have a cutout for track use, IIRC.

Also, can you quote when and where he said 60mm was the best exhaust that ever existed?
Because he told me prior to my swap that 3" would net the best gains with the VQ35..
I just find it funny that you claim he said one thing, when told me otherwise.. Just want some proof on his remark.

Danny, you needa stop being a nut hugger. I'm banned on fi-r so I have no PMs there anymore. Either way he said Barry used this very exhaust setup, shorty headers, 60mm pipe, and VQ30 2in y pipe. He said it was one of the best setups he ever tried and that is the reason I made 250whp on a dyno and why Barry is making 325whp. So I wanted to see if anyone thinks that it is the best setup on a VQ35 forum where other people actually use the engines we have. Just gathering feedback. Is this the best exhaust setup or close to it? Did Barry run the cutout at the track? Barry said his own personal best was a 12.6 at 107 or something I can't remember. When he first got out there.

He got it down to 12.4s after the experience etc.

Why don't you guys take your Sentra's or whatever and go play somewhere else, with some Nissan Cube's or something...You should know it's either gotta be full titanium or from Japan, otherwise you're wasting your time here son.

Not being a nut hugger. Your making false claims, twisting the words around and trying to get people on your side. Look at Barry's builds, he has an exhaust cutout, yours dosen't.

You already know the result of your old exhaust setup, what are you posting this for? I know why, trying to get every little piece of ammo you can to use against Trav. Grow the **** up man. It's one thing when you critize the guy for shotty work on your car and you call him out on it. But to make multiple threads, use false claims, blow things out of proportion, all to just keep attacking someone is childish. I use to take you seriously, but not anymore.

If you can close this thread that would be great. This kid just made a pointless thread and I had to call him out on it.
