Default nismo exhaust

I think this is the exhaust I want, even though I have not heard it in person. I have heard the borla (not impressed) and the injen (sounded cool but, to deep for me). From what I have heard in the clips the nismo has more of a higher pitched sound and thats what i'm after, more ferrarish to me. I do want something louder than stock but not overly loud. If you guys have the nismo exhaust or if you have heard it in person, please tell me it has an exotic car sound.

I heard the Nismo exhaust in person last weekend for the first time (other than sound clips) - I have to say the sound clip on the Sport Z web site is pretty true to life. It's not really any louder than stock until you get on it, then - - wow - - I'm purchasing mine soon, my dealer is just starting to get into the Nismo stuff and has been great about giving me a super price (dealer cost is $770, I'm paying a little more than that, but no shipping costs like if I'd buy from internet). I can't wait, sounds great and the quality is above and beyond the competition.

How is the performance of the Nismo compared to the INjen? I am planning on getting an exhaust over winter break but i'm not sure what to get now. I had been planning on the injen because of the horsepower gains and the sound. But now it seems like there are a lot more options.

Not as a vendor but as a Z driver I love the NISMO Exhaust the most.

This is my favorite video / audio clip I have seen of the NISMO so far. NISMO Exhaust Sound Clip from User: konverter

Sz28r mentioned the shipping cost of the system being high.

We just worked out a deal with a new shipping company and can get the exhaust shipped for nearly half the cost we were able to before. NISMO Exhaust $847 + ship

I love my NISMO exhaust. bought it from Performance Nissan. It's definatley louder and meaner than stock and when your in those higher RPM's it sounds super sweet. There is no way you will have any regrets going with the NISMO. I have the NISMO CAI too and am extremely happy.

i luv the looks and quality of the Nismo exhaust, i have headers and straight pipes and it makes the exhaust sound amazing...i could not ask anything more...many people have told me that it sounds like a racing bike/exotic....

with the exhaust alone...i think its ok...but if you really want the nismo to open up, my suggestions is to get either headers or straight pipes...or both. i will promise you, you will luv it

Or high flow cats will do the same. Especially the Random Tech's. the numbers from them are like the test pipes, but dont sound raspy at all..

I hear the Nismo is a re-named B&B. Is this true?

The Nismo headers are made by B&B, but the Nismo exhaust comes from Japan. Made by Fujitsubo as I recall...

The muffler has a Weldina plate stamped on it so at least the muffler is from Weldina.

IMO, it's hard to describe the NISMO exhaust sound. I wasn't looking for an overly loud exhaust system and I didn't want any droning at cruising speed. To my amazement, it's only a little louder at WOT and barely noticeable in cruising at 6th gear. The tone sounds just a little deeper, IMO.

Michael.

I recently got the Nismo exhaust installed. It has a great sound but it is louder than I expected. Don't get me wrong, its not overly loud but when getting on it, the sound is considerably louder than stock (at least inside the car). Normal cruising is fairly quiet.

It is very well made. I was surprised how much better it is than the stock piece. You will not have any complaints with the quality not sure what your likes/dislikes are when it comes to sound. I am happy with it.

You may also want to check out the Stillen exhaust. It has good output and sounds pretty nice. Cost is close to the NISMO. Its also a true dual system and very popular.

isn't "weldina" just a product branding that nismo uses for their exhaust, or is it the name of a separate company that makes the exhausts?

I have not heard the injen in person. From the clips I have heard I would guess that the Nismo is not louder than the injen.
