Default So What's Up With This Tomei Ti Exhaust?...

Just found this today...looks like people have known about it for awhile, and maybe is available through Z1, however it's not on their website or anything. Check it out if you haven't seen or heard about it yet:

DAMN! +13 RWHP and +17 Ft.-Lb. Torque with just exhaust and everything else stock engine components! Read the last article on Corner Balance. I would definitely buy this exhaust if someone has it available for purchase!....

The dyno was done at an independant shop, not even by Tomei itself. Keep in mind its on an HR as well, not a DE. The car belongs to a friend of mine, and aside from some suspension stuff, an OSG limited slip, and a drop in air filter (and some seats!), it is bone stock. It's also the prototype, so we don't yet know if any changes will be made to the production version. We just figured people would want some sort of idea as to the gains, so we provided the dyno sheet as a courtesy. Not many other large firms out there provide such dyno's (HKS, Greddy, Apexi, etc). You can believe it, not believe it, or just take it as part of the overall equation, up to you

The exhaust is being made BTW, should be released by the end of the year

I'm not "falling" for believing it produced that power. Refer to Z1's post. I'm not an idiot.

Regardless of the gains, I think it's a pretty well made design, and I love the single exit exhaust systems on here. From what I've seen they are really the only systems worth putting on the car for gains. I had a GReddy True Dual exhaust and tossed to go single, and still have not decided which route I want to go. Pending the price, this might be the system I choose.

If you guys want to take a thread I started just to share information and turn it around into a bash...

If $1,300 is the MSRP, I'm gonna bet that around $1,000 will be the introductory price from a vendor such as Z1.

So a grand for a normal nothing special single? Can't say weight savings bc single to this wont b significant to justify cost. Plenty of GREAT singles. AAM, AP, GREDDY, JIC.

I imagine most of the cost is because of the material being used (titanium versus stainless steel in the other systems you listed). So if material is important to the end user, then yes, this system is "special." If material is not important to the user, then yeah go with one of the other brands listed. The JIC single full titanium btw is about $1,900. So honestly this system compared to the JIC Full Ti is a freaking steal. They both look like straight through systems, and both use slip-on clamps...

Also neither of the AAM systems (Single or Dual) are full titanium. You can get them with the Ti Muffler, but what's that going to save you in weight??? Plus the AAM exhaust with titanium costs about $800 ($1200 for the True Duals).

As for GReddy Ti-C single, I love the exhaust but it isn't a straight through design, and has a resonator before the muffler section. This exhaust too is made of stainless, even the muffler. Only the tip is titanium.

I also considered Agency Power. But again the system is made of stainless, and only has a titanium muffler section. Plus the AP system has the crush bend in it to "appropriately" fit around the braces under the car.

Also rarity is a factor too. If someone wants to have a system that no one else, or very few people have then that would be another reason to consider the Tomei Exhaust.

I want it, especially if it shows the same weight savings that the Expreme TI for the Evo X did.

once the release date has been set, that is when final MSRP and an introductory price will be announced - as soon as we have that info, we'll get it posted first

as for the weight savings, I am pretty confident that this should be the lightest exhaust on the market for the car by a pretty fair margin, for those who are interested in such attributes

modified mag had an article a few issues back about this exhaust on their Evo X.
they said that MSRP is $1290 and claimed that it was coming to the 350. they also said that it weighed 9.7 lbs
holding it with two fingers
