Default Who has JUST hi-flo cats?

Does anyone have no power mods except for hi-flo cats? I have given up on the HFM volk GB because it is taking too long so I need to spend this money on my Z . So, if you have a stock Z with only hi-flo cats, please help me out with the following.

1. Brand
2. Price and where you bought
3. Power improvement
4. Sound (cold and warm)

Thanks a ton

PS- I might be going with the Borla TD Exhaust also, so if you have that and any hi-flo cats feel free to post also .

Just high flow cats will add 10RWHP and will add more in combination with a cat back exhaust.

Random Technology High Flow Cats have had alot of good comments.

You can purchase them at the below link for $500.00 plus shipping (tax if in CA) as a My350z board member. Just say you are in the comment section when you order.

Random Technology High Flow Cats $500.00 for My350Z Board Members.

The sound with the RT's is not raspy. Just slightly louder. Someone on here has them with a borla true dual and loves the sound. I personally like the sound of the Nismo Exhaust a little better.

Wow, 10rwhp without other mods... hard to believe that uncorking the middle will give that much while the front and back are still corked... sorry for being picky, but money is draining quickly... do you have any dyno graphs or times before/after RT cats?

Here are numbers from Mr Twisted who put them on an AUTO TRANNY Z with small mods. Auto tranny has alot more drive train loss then with the Manual Tranny.

Base line with Injen CAI / Stillen Dual Cat Back Exhaust;

Dynoed 11/1 229.6 HP 230.4 tq

Cats added, car driven 850 mi

Dynoed 11/10 237.4 hp 240.3 tq
10 RWHP is actually a modest number. My guess is they add 12-15RWHP.

The cats are what is holding all the Z's power in.

At the moment I only have a NISMO exhaust on my car. I think I am going to slap a pair of the RT cats on and do a dyno run just to get a number with the Exhaust as a baseline.

I would go for it. good price and you will gain power and lose some unwanted weight off the z. Two benifits for the price of one!! Can't lose on this one.

Well, here is a dyno on the Random high flow cats:

http://www.350zfrenzy.com/forum/show...ht=Random+cats

Bit lower than you guys are reporting, don't know why. Most have said 6HP. The Crawfords are supposed to be like 5HP.

Thank you,

Jason's post is correct on what we've seen they have added 8 to 10hp on the cars that were dynoed..... however ALL of these cars hade some kind of modification like an exhaust system or more. I also agree that with everything else stock including the muffler the cat's will only add about 5/6hp at best.

10 lb's TQ on Mr Twisted's AUTOMATIC!

Remember Auto's experience MORE drive train loss then a Manual.

The cat's on car's are the most restrictive thing holding back horse power. Putting headers on the car wont do nearly as much with the OEM cats, but if you have the High Flow Cats it will help the free flowing design of the headers.

I would like to know this as well. That would be a tempting combination to get more power with a not-too-loud sound.

The hi flow cats will work on the stock exhaust as well right, because id like to order them and im getting a new exhaust (thinking about the RSR GT 2) in the spring, cuz i live up north and dont want the weather destroying the exhausts look right away. It is okay to run these witht eh stock exhaust right, i dont think it would be a problem but i just want to make sure. Thanks for the help.

The High Flow Cats will work with any "CAT BACK" exhaust.

High flow cats will work with any header that is designed to bolt up to the stock cats. They work with All except XERD's which are long tube and eliminate the cat all together. (there may be more long tube headers and if there are please post).

Has anyone compared the cfm ratings for both Random's and Crawford's Hi-Flow Cats?
