Hey guys
so before i bought this ypipe i was running the following setup:
berk test pipes ---> hr ypipe ----> nismo exhaust
this setup had a really irritating, raspy-rattlesnake sound right at 2.5-3k rpm.. it was so bad i would shift early like at 2k just to avoid cringing at the sound..
so i got tired of it and ended up buying a new ypipe b/c i knew the 2" hr ypipe was creating a bottle neck. My berk test pipes are 2.5" btw
I purchased the AAM Competition ypipe from www.hopupracing.com

After installing this y-pipe I took it out for a drive. I immediately noticed that the rattlesnake sound is gone! And I also noticed that the hissing sound that i get when i let my revs fall is also gone! The throttle response was noticeably smoother, i think this was the biggest difference i could feel..also now the exhaust sounds deeper.. more bass.
fyi, the aam competition ypipe is built to order.. it took them about 7 business days to build it, then i had to wait for shipping which took about 4 business days.. but i was in no hurry so no prob for me

Let me ask. Why no motordyne? Im running AAM currently and im getting ready for another exhaust makeover. Motordyne art with.xyz and my mr single. Im only gonna do it for to c if i make power. If not ill ship back to tony.

i'll be interested in seeing your results
the xyz stuff is pricey.. and honestly i don't think its worth the minimal gains you will get..
i just needed something that had 2.5" inlets and a 3" outlet but I didn't want the typical ypipe design.. so it was either aam or jic

Im also looking forward to the dyno. I have AAMs old y pipe that looks like most traditional y pipes. Now that im sober looking at ur pik i really like that jic design. And ur right motordyne is very pricey and unless it shows gains well enough to make me feel good dropping all that money like i said ill ship it back

i have an aam ypipe just sittin in my room. not gonna install it until i get my catback (already have TPs installed).
For what its worth, i honestly think the aam y pipe is the best bang for your buck compared to the other y pipes out there. its not too pricey but its quality built and provides gains.

i'll go ahead and update this thread since it's been bumped
so lets see its been about 4 months and somewhere around 6-8k miles since install and this ypipe is holding up great! I just got done changing my oil and did a little inspection of the test pipes and ypipe and they look mint
the berk test pipes are 2.5" non-resonated
i have been on the fence about keeping or removing my test pipes.. just b/c i'm starting to get annoyed at the damn CEL and sometimes I can't hold a conversation with my girl b/c my exhaust drones like a ****..but then again i am passionately attached to the sound at full throttle..
i have been thinking about this for months and i decided to keep them - **** holding conversations with passengers
