If it does not have a honeycomb structure then it is not a cat. It is a resonator. It has no emission reducing value at all. It will get rid of the raspiness but that's all. If you open it, it will just have muffler packing in it(steel weave and fiberglass weave).

So these are your test pipes with a stainless resignator/cat welded in? Is there any way those of us that already bought your test pipes can set up a trade plus some cash or send you our pipes and get the cats welded in?

We will consider the bracket, but please understand that I had never thought the "raspy" or as other people describe "rattle" noise associated in the 3-4k rpm range was from the pipes physically rattling. The raspy noise is exactly what we aimed to eliminate with this new design.

I have done 3 video clips comparing stock with test pipes and then finally with our new pipes. Can you help me host them Mr.Wazowski? I am not sure how to get these clips posted.

We will be getting a final word on Monday from the manufacturer of the converters to give me the real deal on their emissions capabilities.

Do the other high flow cats on the market come with a bracket to mount to the factory brace? Like the Random technologies or the Crawfords? If a bracket is all that is needed to stop the raspiness then maybe I can save myself some trouble, and you guys some money. Let me know your thoughts

 

The Random Technology high flow cats have the bracket.
The XERD cat bypass pipes have the bracket.

I don't think that the bracket will help the raspiness, but I think it would help dampen vibrations.

Basically the brackets are there stock to help with vibrations. The raspiness you ave fixed with your resonator but the chance of vibrations is still around. Basically I would just like a very solid set of pipes and I beleive yours will be best after the brackets.

 

wait...so these new pipes are basically aimed at eliminating the raspy sound?....i for one like the aggresive and loud sound ...do these new pipes really tone it down (compared to your test pipes)...

excuse me for being ignorant..but assuming theydont pass emissions..is the jump in price (from your orginal test pipes) just basically for a resonator

if so..375 is still a good price because there are other test pipes with a resonater that are 400

These arent high flow cats from what i understand. They are resonated test pipes.

This was probably covered a long time ago but can some of you guys who have these answer a quick question for me PLEASE. Do any of these secondary cat eliminator pipes freak out the OBD system and trigger the check engine light? Or does the light stay off?

Just to clarify, you run Random primary cats (the ones right off the manifolds) and no secondary cats at all? And there is no check engine light? I was just curious because I thought there was an O2 sensor after the primary and after the secondary cats and thought if the ECU saw the same thing after the 1st set and same thing after the eliminated set it would throw a check light/code. If it doesn't that's awsome. I'll have to get a set!

 

Due to customer feedback, we have added the factory brackets to our high flow cats.

Also, we have found that our high flows have little/no emmissions control so we have also developed a CARB approved magnaflow/carsound high flow cats. These will pass emissions, also have the factory bracket, and will be priced very aggressively.

look for a formal release of a few products in the first week of january, with new and aggressive pricing for all our products.
