Wow u do have a man crush on me. Again who r u? Why r u here with a grocery getter? Obviously u have never researched anything before opening your mouth. Why would he want a hfc module? Have u read the thread that I was referring to? If not stfu. If.he wants to.turn down sound volume without hurting hp and tq for a sc the hfc module would b ideal. Please stop following my post. Im flattered but your not my type.

You're nothing special, stop getting a hard-on. You're just like every other dip who stays on a car forum for a few years, reads some threads, but doesn't understand them, and then tries to give advice.
Aren't you the same guy that just told the OP he should get an HFC because more back pressure will improve his S/C response?
...
Oh right, you are, and you're an idiot. It's just so hard for me to resist correcting the false information you propagate all over this subsection. I think the relevant question is, who are you? Why do you think you know anything? Do you know actually know anything about cars? You have so many resources on this site, and you're still lost.
Grocery getter. You do realize that grocery getter is just as quick as your Z was stock. That G sedan is the same exact platform as the Z and you need to respect them. Anyway the XYZ pipe will be louder than any other y pipe mentioned. Sure it gives greater gains but it's also louder. If you want quiet go back to stock.

Do you have dynos, time slips, anything?

btw i dont post my times of my runs at the drag strip(2x btw) to get me kudos or to be liked/respected by forum members. I know quite a bit about intakes and exhaust. just bc i dont spoon feed forum members who are to lazy to search doesnt mean i know nothing. Yes instead of me posting an easy answer to a dumb question i like to have a little fun. Sorry this is a run on sentence but im trying to read your intelligent post while typing my intelligent response
.
trust me i respect the car/platform just not morons
ok for 1 here is the thread to make u shut your mouth

.The OP in the thread you posted has a lot of mods that increase flow:
-Headers
-ART pipes
-XYZ pipe
-3" Amuse exhaust
-IPP Stage 2 Rev-up engine
It is clear that his vehicle is different than the one we're talking about in this thread. Also, don't forget that some S/C 350's supposedly lose power with headers, something the OP doesn't have, ya dip.
The OP has HFCs and an exhaust. No headers, no built engine, etc. He still has some measure of restriction because he's running HFCs and not test pipes. I do not think it'll serve any purpose to add another cat. In fact, he might lose power.
In terms of back pressure, don't listen to me, listen to Tony:
That's pretty cool. Install a catalytic converter on a FI revup engine and make more power.
It is interesting to see how there is an optimum point of back pressure for some FI applications. Too much blow by during intake/exhaust valve overlap can waste fuel/air charge by sending it right out the exhaust before it has a chance to be part of the cylinder combustion process.
At least when Naturally Aspirated on a relatively stock DE engine, there is no amount of back pressure that is beneficial for performance.
NA test results are posted here: https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...k-for-n-a.html
In any case, its great to see you can gain 30 HP by stuffing a cat in your exhaust!

ok your not quite understanding what i mean. I have never nor will i EVER say that backpressure is a good thing. idc if its SC ST TT NA. your adding so many more variables to the equation. For this equation i was simply saying this
HFCs+Nismo= 2 loud 4 him
My suggestion was
HFCs+XYZ with Cat module+nismo would prob gain a few ponies while toning down the exhaust.
R we on the same page now?
HFCs+Nismo= 2 loud 4 him

There has to be a better way to reduce noise without adding an additional cat that basically negates any gains he got from the high flow cats. I'm not sure of the specs on the Motordyne cat, but it could choke the car down worse than even the stock cats. To me, that's not a viable option.
I hate to be a Motordyne nut-licker, but the man knows his ****:
Right on TK. You nailed it.
OP, adding a resonator will reduce the high frequencies and some midrange frequencies, but be careful.... they can sometimes induce or increase low frequencies (IE drone).
Experimentation is the only way you can really know what the results will be.
It is possible however that the addition of LARGE mufflers near the back of the exhaust will reduce (but not eliminate) drone.
Experiment!

trust me i know Tony knows his ****. Iv talked to him countless times on here through post/pms and phone calls. anyways lets squash the BS alright?
<---puts his hand 50% in front of him for a manshake... lol

Okay I took some drives with the Berk HFC's and I decided I really can't live with the drone around 3000 rpm.. it's like my whole car is resonating.
Right now I'm looking into replacing the Berk's with ceramic HFC's.
Can someone comfirm that these will be a lot less noisy compared to metallic HFC's?
Thnx.

i installed kinetix ceramic hfc's today and compared to the berk metallics the sound at wot is probably just as loud.
they do sound different though.. the metallic harshness you have with the berk's is gone.. they sound the same as the nismo exhaust but just louder. i like the sound much better than the sound i had with the berk's.
and the best news is the highway drone is much less.. there is some around 3000rpm but not nearly as much as i had with the berk's and from 3100 rpm there is almost no drone at all.
i really like these kinetix ceramic hfc's with my nismo exhaust!
