Default Please HELP with Test Pipe issues!!!

I recently bought an M2 performance set of test pipes and full M2 performance dual exhaust and it sounds like crap! Its super loud and its so raspy im embarrased to get on the gas. I went by the local exhaust shop and they put a set of resonators on it. That made it a bit more quiet but the rasp is still there when i put throttle in it. Can anyone give me some polite and resonable suggestions in order to fix this? I dont have ANY of my stock parts btw. Thanks and God Bless!

Rasp is an unavoidable part of test pipes. Does your car sound anything like mine?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-_-01yx4l4

If so, you just didn't know what you were getting into with an exhaust lol.

Seriously, I can silence my car so the drone goes away, but the rasp wont. Try to get a custom silencer built, it'll cost like $50 bucks tops. Or ask the company. Bat the rasp is so awesomeee......learn to love it.....

your cats are a set of nearly solid screens.. ie, no straight shot from piston of your engine/exhaust port/#ss end of your car thru tailpipes.

Test pipes are a open tube: ie, a TOTAL straight shot from piston of your engine/exhaust port/#ss end of your car thru tailpipes.

You have ONLY these fixes as options:
Buy HFCs instead of test pipes.
Buy stock Cats again
Buy a turbo as it fixes that whole "Stright shot" issues also, lol.
Live w the sound since youve already installed resonators.

thats it. sorry.. theres no more science to it than that.

You can spend $$$ trying to find the right sound. Or check the market place for a $200 used OEM exhaust.

M2 is a HKS clone. The worst thing about HKS or their clone is the drone with test pipes.

There is 3 options you can do:

Put the stock cat back on
Buy a pair of HFC or Motordyne ART pipes. (Which will run you about $450-$550)
Buy a Magnaflow X pipe part number 14386 and get it welded in replacing the H pipe and resonator. ($200 option)

The rasp/hiss is unavoidable with the testpipe and HFCs alike. Stock cats will take away the hiss/rasp. Im curious to know how the m2 exhaust sounds. It should sound similar to of the HKS judging from the design, unless there is a break in the welds or pipes.

ART pipes will help quite a bit. They reduce rasp, loudness and drone more than any other test pipe or HFC. And they make more power than either.

I had a friend point out some Megan resonated test pipes. He said that should dwindle the rasp down next to nothing... 154 dollars shipped so im going to try them out. Ill let you all know how it works out. Should be here by the end of next week and installed. The M2 exhaust sounds amazing without the rasp, it has this amazing growl like i have never heard before. Just if you get them... LEAVE THE CAT STOCK lol.

Someone asked if my exhaust sounded like this. It does but with TONS of rasp. Again, the sound is amazing but the mistake was the test pipes. Never again will i buy them nor will i recommend them. The power was minimal that it added anyways and i lost torque. Very unhappy with that mod. I hope these resonated ones help or its back to stock for me. Some things just shouldnt be messed with i guess.

Just buy a motordyne exhaust system, even when running my V1 shockwave with test pipes i had little to no rasp. The Gamma is quieter, with the same results.
