Well you better make sure you get at least a couple more than you need because I've ran many group buys, here and on other car forums and inevitably several people drop out because of money issues. It's all good when they say they want something, but when the time comes to pay up, usually there are a couple who realize they were being too optimistic.

You might think about posting this on some of the other major car forums. There will be a lot of interest, however, your headache factor will go up directly proportional to how many people are involved in the group buy.

I'm interested too - this would be a complete wideband o2 monitoring solution right? (aside from the twin-sensor issue raised above?)

 

After trying to find a vendor that could get me a better price on these, it was starting to become evident that something was wrong with the extremely low $320 price that I was originally given. I called the vendor back a few minutes ago and the price he originally gave me was only for the wiring and sensor, not including the gauge/controller. The complete kit is more like $400 each if we can get 20 people. Let me know if anyone is still interested and I can go back to them about setting this up. This time though we would be given a code that you could call them with to get the GB price and pay them directly. They would in turn drop ship the gauges directly to you. I would no longer be responsible for coordinating the payment and re-shipping which would help speed delivery to you. Sorry folks, that is the best that I can do for now.

 

Darn in - I knew that was too god to be true...

Anyways - what about these wideband o2's not lasting very long - is that true; that's what I was told...

Also, do you guys suggest with going all 60 or 52mm gauges. I know this one is 52mm - and i would like all of them to be like this, including the PE TT boost gauge - does anyone know what size that one is?

I think you'll be hard pressed to get 20 members to pay 400+ unfortunately. What is the EXACT price?

 

He quoted me $430 ea. for 10 and $400 ea. for 10. I would be making nothing on this GB. Even at the $320 price, I would have made nothing. I believe to buy just one their price is around $450.

Thats not a great buy. AEM told me they would run about 420 at regular price. Sorry count me out.

 

Really? I spoke to alot of AEM vendors and they were all at about $450-$470 for a single unit. Even the best that one of our sponsors, HorsepowerFreaks.com, could do was $400 on 10. (which now seems like a better deal that than 20 @ $400). I am going to make the rounds again and see what I can find.

 

So how useful is this thing for the avg enthusiast? I'm just wondering id\f this is worth buying if you aren't going into heavy modding. Are some just getting it for looks?

 

i am still very interested in longevity - i was told by a reliable source that widebands do NOT last very long and you have to replaace the sensor quite often. Is this true?

If you are not going to modify the car to any great extent and need accurate A/F rations, then I would not get this. Just get the one of the narrowband sensor kits from Autometer, K&N or Edlebrock.

 

I have seen nothing that leads me to believe that these sensors have any less of a life span than the ones that are in the car already. Now, if you use them with leaded fuel or a fuel additive that contains lead, then that is a different story.

 

I read the Bosch sensor is good for 500 hours of use. After that it can loose it's accuracy.

I will be getting one of these because it will not be permanently installed.

If i wanted to install it I could just wire the output signal to my autometer gauge to display the readout from the wb o2. The AEM is nice, but I'm not ready to drop that much cash on it.
