Default Spyder exhaust?

I saw this exhaust first on eBay and I don't buy parts on ebay unless they're OEM typically. I was thinking of a clean muffler and some custom piping and have it be half the cost of the nismo exhaust. Then I see this, looks like a nismo knockoff, it's cheaper then having a custom job. So I thought about it and I said I'm buying it!

It's made by a company called Spyder Auto Group. Has anyone heard of this exhaust? I am going to install it on my 07 base this weekend. I have a few mods, so I'm interested to see how this will sound and perform.

Mods are:

Nismo intakes
Z1 HFC
Megan Y Pipe
Stage 2 southbend clutch with one piece flywheel
B&M shifter
I also have some meaty 265s out back, just missing the exhaust

Couldn't help but pull the trigger if it's crap I'll sell it on craigslist.

Just stay away from it. If you already have decent stuff, why throw garbage at the end of it.

Same thing as the SRS cheap exhaust. You are probably better off with an X02 if you're going to cheap out on the exhaust.

What's cheap about it? It's stainless steel and has the same straight through design the nismo exhaust has. Mandrel bent piping etc. I will review it when it comes in.

So because it costs less, but it is made out of the same materials as other more expensive exhausts it is junk?

Looks identical to my nismo S-tune, doesnt hurt to try it . Youll find out for yourself after a few months go by if it holds up fine then good if welds start to break then reweld lol.

Saying it's the same because it looks the same is pretty dumb, don't you think? The Nismo (I've got one) is built from the best materials, and was designed by Nissan - it will probably outlast my car, and the performance gains, while minimal, are well-proven. You're never going to see the same quality in any knockoff, which is why they cost so much less. Nonetheless, try the Spyder and see what you think, rather than trying to justify your purchase in advance with flawed logic.

BTW, this should be a big clue as to the veracity of the description, "improve up to 20 horse power . . ."

Wow, a lot of attempted jimmy rustling going on there. The muffler is $220 shipped to my door. I am going to bolt it on and see how it sounds and performs. It's an OEM style like the nismo which is what I like. It is made out of stainless steel and has mandrel bent piping and cnc cut flanges. It's worth every penny and I gaurantee it's not worth an extra $800 for the nismo.

Just save some money and buy a quality used exhaust. Also I lol'd at "meaty 265s out back." Most guys run 255s or 265s up front on a meaty setup

yeah, 265 is weak and definitely not considered 'meaty' for a rear tire.

i prefer quality parts. they retain there value if ever i have to sell them, and the quality is unquestionable.

265s are more then enough with my HP level. The exhaust came today and just as expected it's solid. Very well constructed and good welds. I will be bolting it on here tomorrow and I'll post some results and a vid.

never said it couldn't handle the power for a dd. i said it not considered "meaty".

soon as you start driving it hard or do autocross you will see how little traction you have.

i would expect it to have good welds. my motordyne has GREAT hand tig welds.

your not paying for the material, material is cheap. your paying for the designing, engineering and crafsmenship that goes into the parts. how much research/testing was done on that exhaust? zero.

Nice and shiny - I wanted to hang my Nismo up on the wall for a while when it was delivered.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't know "meaty" had a specification.

I'm sure you're correct in that 0 hours went into designing and testing this exhaust also
