Default Topspeed exhaust/ Your thoughts.

So I've been going over exhausts, what I want, ect. I pretty much decided to start saving for either Motordyne TDX system w/ ART pipes, or the Meisterschaft system.

But in the meantime I want something that's temporary. I came across the "Topspeed" exhaust system's. Seems its a full TD system that's really is trying to mimic the MD system for about $500.

http://www.topspeedauto.com/index.ph...product_id=795

So is this system worth $500 for a temporary replacement before I get the real deal or should I just wait?

I couldn't really find any threads discussing this but if I missed it please shoot me the link.

Other wise I want feed back from the die hards.

Thanks.

Why the hell would you drop $500 on something you are going to replace within a year??? Seems like a huge waste of money. Lots of people run Top Speed exhaust, it's loud. Lots of threads on it, too.

I have a buddy that is running top speed test pipes and exhaust and I can hear him from about a mile off when he's flooring it. Not my cup of tea but prep for some loudness

LOL Your talking to somebody who spent 16'gs on building/modding a s13 240sx coupe. $500 isn't that much..to me. Thank's anyways.

That sounds too loud for a high 13sec car. Unless your breaking into the lower 12's or high 11's that kinda of DB level wont be justified and is going to verge on rice for me. Thanks for the feedback.

If $500 isn't much to you, then why don't you just go out and buy the exhaust you want, since you're obviously such a baller.

I'm not a baller, I just have a little more expendable cash, not enough to be able to drop 3g's in one month, but enough to spend $500.00 with no worries. I still have financial obligations just like everyone else.

Yeah I don't know offhand if you are running test pipes but whew it's a little too much for me to want to handle. Especially like you said when speed wise it just isn't there. But to each their own, What kind of sound are you looking for out of you Z? I finally got myself all set the right way with just a little tweaking to come cause I sound like i have a v10 under the hood at this point.

I want a exotic sound which is why I like the MD TDX system and really love the sound of the Meisterschaft system regardless of price. What are you running? Got any sound clips?

I had top speed test pipes and magnaflow, but managed to get my hands on an RS-R and I have that on there as of last night. Sound is perfect for what I wanted, but it's LOUD so I need to reinstall the silencers which is probably going to happen this afternoon. I more than understand your exhaust issue, I have a roadster so to me my exhaust is part of the sound system. I'll post some clips this evening once I get home.

I have the exact same version without the resonators, I think it's called Straight Style B on their website. I am one of those dudes that likes loud, I've seen the videos they have on their website and mine doesn't sound as loud as that... Take into consideration that I have stock cats still. I like the exhaust, build quality of it as well. Fitment was kinda off, I had it installed at a shop though so nothing we couldn't fix. I burned through the gaskets it came with within about a month. I replaced them but I think I burnt through them again. All in all, they're okay for the price, just the right loudness, when I'm burning Mustang GT's, and the Evo 10's, the sound is spot on. I always get asked what kind of exhaust I have. Mine doesn't even sound like a Z anymore though, that's the only thing. To each their own, for 500 bucks I say why not.

If you're not going to buy something you are going to keep then just buy it used. If you want to be patient then wait to buy the one you want mr. purpose built 240.

Do something more productive with that $500. Something you won't replace in a month.

Plenty of oil coolers, plenum spacers, intakes, swaybars etc you could pick up
