Default Air intake modification help!

I was going to take out the air box and put on a filter cone on the stock pipe but I was wondering if it's better to keep the box on and what kind of filter I should use in Florida?

The stock airbox isn't that restrictive.

If you're determined to have an exposed filter get the JWT pop charger.

Just put a K&N drop-in in your OEM air box.

K&N filters suck at actually filtering out the crap you don't want in the engine. High-quality paper filters, i.e. OEM, Napa Gold, Purolator One, etc. work as intended and offer no restriction you can possibly measure. I've used K&N filters twice in BMW's and twice had to dismantle and clean the intake all the way to the cylinder head to remove all the grit they let past. K&N has never been able to demonstrate any measurable pressure drop from a stock paper filter as compared to one of theirs.

What he said.

K&N makes a washable filter. Been using them for 9 years. No problems.
